2010 SPRING RECREATION INFORMATION

The Spring 2010 season will run seven weeks, with the first games set to be played on April 24, 2010 and the last games of the season scheduled for June 12, 2010. Teams will practice for one hour, twice a week, in the evenings and games will be held on Saturdays. Boys teams will practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays and Girls teams will practice on Mondays and Wednesdays. The RYSA Recreation league is "in-house" and teams only play other teams from Rochester and the surrounding areas. Each child plays at least half of each game, no matter their skill level. Scores and league standings are not kept, and the emphasis is on having fun and learning the game in a relaxed environment.

The Spring Recreation coaches meeting is scheduled for Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Willow Creek Middle School. As with the past few years, this will be broken down by grades, as shown below, with a meeting followed by a coaching clinic with RYSA's Director of Coaching Neil Cassidy and Director of Player Development Chris Belcher. Meetings will take place in the cafeteria and clinics will be held in the gymnasiums. The schedule is as follows:
1st & 2nd grade coaches - meeting 8:30-9:00 am; clinic 9:00-9:45 am
3rd & 4th grade coaches - meeting 9:15-9:45 am; clinic 9:45-10:30 am
5th & 6th grade coaches - meeting 10:00-10:30 am; clinic 10:30-11:15 am
7th - 12th grade coaches - meeting 10:45-11:15 am; clinic 11:15 am-noon

Coaches will have the option to start practicing with their teams as early as Monday, April 12, if field conditions allow. All coaches should start their practices no later than the week of April 19.

For the 2010 Spring Recreation season RYSA has implemented an "Early Bird" registration period, followed by a "General" registration period. Costs and dates are as follows:

EARLY BIRD Registration (November 15, 2009 - January 8, 2010)

Grades 5-12 = $80

GENERAL Registration (January 9, 2010 - January 31, 2010)
