2010 FALL RECREATION INFORMATION
The Fall 2010 season will run six weeks, with the first games set to be played on September 11, 2010 and the last games of the season scheduled for October 16, 2010. Teams will practice for one hour, twice a week, in the evenings and games will be held on Saturdays. Boys teams will practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays and Girls teams will practice on Mondays and Wednesdays. The RYSA Recreation league is "in-house" and teams only play other teams from Rochester and the surrounding areas. Each child plays at least half of each game, no matter their skill level. Scores and league standings are not kept, and the emphasis is on having fun and learning the game in a relaxed environment.
Grades 1-6 will participate in league play, just as they do in the spring, except that grades are doubled-up to form teams (1st/2nd, 3rd/4th, 5th/6th). Grades 7-12 will participate in RYSA's "Street Soccer" format. With this format, official teams are not formed. All players in each group (7-8 girls, 7-8 boys, 9-12 co-ed) will practice together once each week and meet on Saturdays, where they will be placed randomly on teams.
For the 2010 Fall Recreation season RYSA has implemented an "Early Bird" registration period, followed by a "General" registration period. Costs and dates are as follows:
EARLY BIRD Registration (May 14, 2010 - June 11, 2010)
Grades 1-6 = $60
Grades 7-12 = $35
GENERAL Registration (June 12, 2010 - June 30, 2010)
Grades 1-6 = $70
Grades 7-12 = $45
Late registrations (those after June 30, 2010) will be charged at the General Registration rate. Late registrations will only be placed on teams if there is still room.
Disclaimers:
PLEASE REMEMBER RYSA DOES NOT FORM SCHOOL/NEIGHBORHOOD TEAMS NOR DO WE HONOR CAR POOL REQUESTS. Please read the refund policy before signing up for spring rec soccer.
While RYSA will attempt to place your child in your preferred practice area, this is dependent on the availability of coaches in that area.
Refund policy: Once registered, players requesting to drop prior to the end of regular registration will receive a refund for fees paid at registration time less $20. Players requesting to drop after the end of regular registration will not receive a refund.
NOTE: By registering for an RYSA activity, you agree to the following statement: I, the parent/guardian of the registrant, a minor, agree that the registrant and I will abide by the rules of the RYSA, MYSA and USYSA, its affiliated organizations and sponsors.
